Going Heart First Into September ☀️

Issue 6

Welcome, Friends!

It’s shaping up to be a big month and I am going in heart first to all of it. I will be leading two very special virtual workshops–the first is to help those struggling with grief and the second is for those launching mission-driven projects (info below).

You will also find details below for new student Penny’s Flight volunteers, a groundbreaking summit on NF, my work with American Program Bureau speakers, and info on the Children’s Tumor Foundation Gala happening November 19th.

Upcoming Workshops

This month I’ll be leading two powerful workshops:

1. How to Launch a Purpose-Driven Project

Sunday, September 21 | 5–7pm EST (via Zoom)

For those looking to create impact — whether through a brand, initiative, or foundation — this session will dive into practical steps and inspiration to bring a purpose-driven vision to life. Whether you’re a student starting a club, an executive seeking to add impact to your business, or a founder building a nonprofit from scratch, this workshop is for you.

2. The Power of Connection & Movement During Grief

Sunday, September 28 | 5–7pm EST (via Zoom)

When you are in deep grief it is hard to do anything, but there are two healing actions that have a profound impact on your mental health and healing. As the author of Reimagining Grief (Hay House 2026) I have designed this workshop to provide surprising, and simple actions that can help you through this difficult time.

Do You Know a Student Wanting to Support Penny’s Flight Foundation?

We’re proud to now have over 100 college and high school chapters across the country! If you know a student who’d like to join an existing chapter or launch their own, please reach out to us at [email protected] to sign up for our all-chapter call.

All Chapter Call — Sunday, Sept 14 via Zoom

Big News: Speaking Representation

I’m thrilled to share that I am now represented by APB (American Program Bureau, Inc.), alongside my continued representation with WSB (Washington Speakers Bureau).

To be supported by both of these incredible agencies is an honor, and I look forward to partnering with corporations, organizations, and schools in the coming year.

🌟 Save the Date: Children’s Tumor Foundation Gala

Chad and I are incredibly honored to be recognized at the Annual Children’s Tumor Foundation Gala Monday, Nov 19 at Gotham Hall, NYC

This powerful evening will bring together changemakers and supporters, raising critical funds to accelerate progress toward a cure. We would be so grateful for your presence or support.

NF Scientists’ Summit at Stanford University

🌟 RASopathies Research Summit at Stanford — Sept 17

I’ll be joining an esteemed group of scientists, clinicians, and advocates for a focused discussion on “How Do We Move the Needle for Interventions?” Together, we’ll be working on a white paper to bridge the gap between preclinical research and human outcomes. It’s an exciting step forward for the NF community, and I’m honored to be part of it.

On My Mind

“Count your age by friends, not years. Count your life by smiles, not tears.”
—John Lennon

Life is not measured by years alone, but by the wings we spread, the friends we walk with, and the love we give. Here’s to a season filled with courage, connection, and joy — and to walking this path together.

With gratitude and sunshine,

Kate Doerge
